Let's save the country from the menace of drugs

            Drugs are one of the worst threats currently destroying the future of the country. Chemical substances that are harmful to the body and cause addiction over long periods of time can be called drugs. Alcohol, whiskey brandy, vodka, cigarettes, heroin, ice, and marijuana are the most commonly used drugs in our country.


            This has become a menace among the younger generation. Drug use has health effects that can even lead to death. The impact of drug use on an individual's economy is also very high. It is a characteristic of those addicted to protessional failure. Here, the family  economy collapses as the individual economy  deteriorates.

             As a result, poverty in country is increasing. This also causes many social problems. The impact of parental drug use on children is not insignificant. There is also  a trend of increasing crime in the country due to drug use. The trend of drug use in the country has also increased due to the laxity in the legal system. Imposing strict rules and regulations regarding the importation, trade, and use of drugs will also go game way to saving the country from the menace of drugs.

                    There are three indigenous dance traditions in Sri Lanka. They are the Up - country dance tradition, the Low - country dance tradition and the Sabaragamuwa dance tradition. These dance traditions are valuable heritages for our country.                  The Up-country dance tradition popular areas are Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Harispattu etc. The main traditional Kandyan dance is Wes dance. The Wes costume is the main costume in this dance. The geta beraya is the main drum in this dance tradition. A power motivation to learn English

                        We, the first year students of the university of the visual and performing arts, had a great motivation program for learning English. It was conducted by lecturer Chathurangi Abeshika on 11.12.2024 and organized by Dr. Sumudu Embogama.                    First, the lecturer showed a video about the journey of learning English.
